Actor Rakul Preet Singh shared the screen space with Akshay Kumar in her latest OTT release titled Cuttputlli. Interestingly, the thriller-drama marked the duo’s first collaboration. Speaking on the same, Singh talked about her experience of working with Khiladi Kumar in an interview with Bollywood Hungama.
While mentioning Akshay Kumar’s work ethic and discipline, we asked Rakul what he is like on the sets since she worked with him. In her response, Singh asserted, “he's extremely disciplined so I'd only heard of those stories till I worked with him”. She then added that on the days when call time was scheduled at seven in the morning, Kumar used to tell her that he was done with his workout at four.
Sharing further, the De De Pyaar De actor said, “even in Mussoorie we would bump into each other - he'd be swimming (and) I would be going to the gym at that point in the morning. And more than that discipline, I think what I love about Akshay sir is that he loves to bring the team together. He ensures that everyone should eat their meals together and that must be done. So, on the first day of reading of this film, which was at 5: 30 AM by the way, he told me, “Tu khana khaye na khaye, sab ke sath khana padega.”
Explaining how this helps the team in the process of filmmaking, the Attack actor said, “the best part about this is that you don't have a barrier with the other actors you know, you're not nervous. It's tougher for us to sort of penetrate into understanding what's happening and how you compliment your co-star but he makes it so easy. Like through the reading only he had made it so easy and you know that by the time we were on set we had, at least I had no fear of working with Akshay Kumar”.
The 31-year-old actor concluded that Akshay has a jovial personality. Their film Cuttputlli released on September 2 and is available on Disney+ Hotstar. The Ranjit M. Tewari directorial, produced under Pooja Entertainment’s banner, is a remake of a Tamil film released in 2018.
