Actors Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan will reunite for Laal Singh Chaddha. The actress wrapped her portions of the film. She returned to the sets after the shooting resumed a few months ago. Amid the shooting, the actress was also pregnant so utmost precautions were taken in order to keep everyone safe.
Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, Kareena Kapoor Khan recently admitted that resuming the shooting felt really good. "I think the way we went back on set, Aamir had taken utmost precautions. As a production, I think they did a fantastic job," she said. "They were continuously testing people every 4-5 days. We had a smooth-sailing shoot, touchwood, it went really well. I had about 10-12 days of work left and we wrapped it up very quickly because I was pregnant. I think it's been a fulfilling journey. I am sure people will love this film and the way the actors have performed. We don't know when the film will release but we are hoping it's gonna come out next year at some point. We want everything to become normal first and I think that's the most important thing."
For Laal Singh Chaddha, Kareena Kapoor Khan had auditioned for her part. With a career spanning 20 years, the actress said that it is quite normal to see whether you fit the part or not and that it is a norm in Hollywood to audition. "I think everybody has a right to understand that if you just particularly belong to this character or not. I think in Hollywood everybody tends to audition for parts no matter how big or small the actor is. I don't think it makes you smaller or bigger. Laal Singh Chaddha is a very different kind of film and a different kind of role. So to be 100 percent sure, I think there's nothing wrong with that. Actors have to keep changing and evolving and trying to do their best. I want to keep doing that because this journey has not ended. I want to continue to work for another 20 years," she added.
The film is an Indian adaptation of Tom Hanks' classic film Forrest Gump. Speaking of it, Kareena further said, "We are very excited. We've given our best shot. I am sure that anything that Aamir does is always special because he gives his 2000 percent to the film and leaves no stone unturned. He doesn't allow any actor to leave any stone unturned either which is the best part of it. I hope people would think that this is one of my good performances because it's a good part and it's a love story I think. I loved the film, I loved the narration. I cried when I heard it. So, it is a beautiful adaptation and I think I can't wait for the audience to see it."
Directed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha is set for Christmas 2021 release.
